The purpose of the cylch Ti a Fi is to offer parents and carers an opportunity meet regularly to enjoy playing with their children and socialise over a cuppa!
The cylch Ti a Fi provides activities promoting the development of children from birth to school age. It’s a brilliant opportunity for parents/carers to meet to socialise and share experiences in an informal Welsh atmosphere.
By attending the cylch Ti a Fi your child will have the opportunity to:
- enjoy playing and making new friends
- enjoy playing with toys
- learn to sing simple Welsh songs that you can sing together at home
- listen to Welsh stories and look through books
- play with water and clay
- …. and really enjoy themselves!
You will also have the opportunity to enjoy yourself – and don’t worry if you don’t speak Welsh as everyone is welcome at the cylch Ti a Fi!
Attending the cylch Ti a Fi is a great opportunity to use the Welsh language if you are a Welsh learner. The cylch Ti a Fi activities will reinforce the use of Welsh language at home and gives non-Welsh speaking families the opportunity to use Welsh for the first time with their children.
The Welsh For The Family scheme has been developed to help non-Welsh speaking parents to learn Welsh with their children. The scheme introduces simple Welsh stories, songs, nursery rhymes and phrases to use at home.
The cylch Ti a Fi is managed by a committee of parents or volunteers, and many are associated with a cylch meithrin (Welsh-medium playgroup) in the area. Currently there are over 500 cylchoedd Ti a Fi registered as members of Mudiad Meithrin dotted across Wales, and over 8,000 children enjoy attending them.
