Mudiad Meithrin will launch a new quality mark scheme called 'Safonau Serennog' at Cylch Meithrin Felinfoel, Llanelli at 10.30 on Tuesday, July 12.
Dr Gwenllian Lansdown Davies, Chief Executive of Mudiad Meithrin said:
"Mudiad Meithrin’s new new quality mark scheme is called 'Safonau Serennog'. It sets a baseline in terms of the quality of service and expectations regarding the Welsh language policy at the cylch meithrin (Welsh-medium playgroups). Each cylch meithrin therefore has a Bronze Star Standard. To be awarded a Silver Star Standard, the cylch must apply by submitting a portfolio that is to be assessed by a panel of experts at Mudiad Meithrin. The Gold Star Standard is awarded following an inspection by an independent inspector at the cylch meithrin."
Leanne Marsh, Head of Development Services Department at Mudiad Meithrin added:
"This scheme is aimed at cylchoedd meithrin with a compatible scheme for cylchoedd Ti a Fi and day nurseries to follow. Raising the standards and confirming quality is an ongoing process and with significant developments within the early years, we must ensure that the cylchoedd meithrin are supported to innovate and expand the service to remain sustainable. The expectations in terms of the Gold Star Standard is very ambitious "
At the launch the children from Cylch Meithrin Felinfoel will sing one of their favourite songs to the guests.
