Following the result of the EU Referendum on Thursday, Mudiad Meithrin is disappointed with the outcome and is concerned about the future and the current climate that has seen a rise in instances of xenophobia and racism. Mudiad Meithrin is opposed to prejudice in all guises.
Mudiad Meithrin is eager to communicate to all cylchoedd that:
- we extend a warm welcome to every child and his/her family to our cylchoedd Ti a Fi (parent and toddler groups) and cylchoedd meithrin (Welsh-medium playgroups) regardless of their background, language, race, colour or needs.
- we demand fair play for all young children in Wales so that they can acquire the Welsh language, enjoy good quality early years experiences in Welsh, and get quality care and education to improve their life opportunities.
- we will continue to work in partnership with our neighbours and partners across Europe to learn from each other and to share experiences which enrich our work.
- we call on the leaders of Wales to keep in mind the welfare of the young children as they lead the nation over the coming weeks and months.
