On Monday 30th May at 3.00pm Pecyn Gŵyl Dewin a Doti (Dewin and Doti Festival Resource Pack) will be launched at Mudiad Meithrin’s stand at the Urdd National Eisteddfod in Flint.
Following a tendering process, Carys John from Ffa-la-la was commissioned to compose 10 new original Welsh songs on the theme ‘People Who Help Us’. As well as the cd, an activity book featuring numerous activities based on the songs as well as corresponding with the Foundation Phase has been published.
Carys John said:
“When I heard that I had been awarded the tender I was over the moon! It will be lovely to hear all the songs that I’ve composed being sung by all the young children throughout Wales. I’m looking forward to meeting all the children and their families on the Dewin and Doti Festival Roadshow which will tour throughout Wales from 13 June to 1 July when we will all be singing the songs as part of the show that will be performed on the tour.”
Dr Gwenllian Lansdown Davies, Mudiad Meithrin’s Chief Executive will launch the Resource pack on the Mudiad’s stand at 3.00pm on Monday. Gwenllian said:
“This Resource Pack is fantastic. The book includes numerous ideas for activities suitable for children attending the cylchoedd meithrin and cylchoedd Ti a Fi and it notes how each activity corresponds to the Foundation Phase. The songs on the cd are lively and catchy and are very easy for children (and adults!) to learn. My favourite song it the Mudiad’s new Anthem – “Un Teulu Mawr” meaning ‘One Big Family’, and there will be an opportunity for everybody to sing-along with Dewin at the end of the launch.”
Every registered provision with Mudiad Meithrin has received a copy of the Pecyn Gŵyl Dewin a Doti (Dewin and Doti Festival Resource Pack) which includes the book of activities and the cd, as part of the Mudiad’s service offered to the provisions. Parents can buy a copy of the cd if they wish from Siop Dewin a Doti which will be located within the Mudiad’s stand (or may be bought online www.siopdewinadoti.cymru). Everybody is invited to attend Taith Gŵyl Dewin a Doti (Dewin and Doti Festival Roadshow) which will tour from 13 June – 1 July (please see the poster below for further information or visit http://www.meithrin.cymru/gwyldewinadoti-cym/).
