This Friday, over at the Canolfan y Morlan, Aberystwyth a full day of presentations, talks, training sessions and even ‘speed dating’ takes place in the name of Mudiad Meithrin, at its first national staff conference.
The conference speakers include Dr Gwennan Schiavone (Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol), Huw Marshall (S4C), Professor Siân Wyn Siencyn (University of Wales Trinity Saint David), Ruth Rowlands (Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales) and much more.
Gwenllian Lansdown Davies, Chief Executive of Mudiad Meithrin said:
"This is the first national staff conference the Mudiad has held. It offers all kinds of ‘formal’ and informal opportunites to share information and expertise, to learn and to discuss our work in the early years provision."
Recently the Mudiad launched 'Academi' with Carwyn Jones, First Minister of Wales.
Dona Lewis, Deputy Chief Executive of Mudiad Meithrin said:
"Through 'Academi' (the Mudiad’s training and development centre), Mudiad Meithrin places emphasis on continuous professional development, so it's great that the national staff conference places emphasis on various issues such as Welsh education, digital future, and high quality early years care and education."
Following the staff conference, the annual general meeting will commence with a presentation by Dr Gwenllian Lansdown Davies, Chief Executive of Mudiad Meithrin followed by a key note speech by the broadcaster Nia Ceidiog at 5pm.
