Mudiad Meithin announced an important new phase in its history with a new quality standards award for Cylchoedd Meithrin (Welsh-medium child care and education groups) called 'Safonau Serennog'.
The aim of the scheme is to encourage the cylchoedd to develop, show innovation and raise the quality and standard of services for young children and families with three different levels of standards - bronze, silver and gold.
Dona Lewis, Deputy Chief Executive of Mudiad Meithrin said:
"The early years care and education sector has seen vast changes over recent years and raising the quality and standard has been a constant theme.
The time has come therefore for us as an organisation to review our original quality standards award - the ‘Cylch Rhagorol’ - ensuring that the requirements are up to date and, more importantly, are ambitious and reflect the high standards of service provided by our cylchoedd meithrin. The outcome of that review – by the Quality and Standard Panel here at Mudiad Meithrin - is the launch of 'Safonau Serennog' which raises expectations for the cylchoedd meithrin.
We know that the cylchoedd meithrin are always keen to raise standards in order to ensure the best care and experience for the children attending their cylch. We look forward therefore to awarding the cylchoedd with the new quality standards.”
