Mudiad Meithrin is very happy to welcome Dawn Larsen into her new role within the organization. Dawn started at her new post as a Development officer in Arfon on September 22nd this year. But this is not her first experience of working for Mudiad Meithrin. Dawn has been very active for years in the Mudiad as a parent herself attending 'Ti a Fi' and then professionally as a Cylch Meithrin Leader at Brynaerau. Dawn will be working alongside 21 Cylch Meithrin (Welsh-medium playgroups), 24 Cylch Ti a Fi (parents and toddler groups) and 3 day nurseries that are registered with Mudiad Meithrin.
Dawn wants people in Arfon to see the importance of giving your child the best start in life through Welsh-medium education. Children are invited to join the small hundreds of those who enjoy the early year’s education and the highest quality care that’s offered through Mudiad Meithrin.
Dawn Larsen said:
"When the opportunity came to be part of Mudiad Meithrin’s team of staff I didn’t have to think twice as the Mudiad had already been an important part of my life for years. I’m extremely pleased that I have been appointed to this particular post and I am eager to show the parents in Arfon how important Welsh-medium education is to ensure the best start possible for their children. There are 21 cylchoedd meithrin across the old county of Arfon offering the opportunity for hundreds of young children to enjoy learning through play through the medium of Welsh.”
Dawn is very much looking forward to be visiting all of the Cylchoedd Meithrin in Arfon over the next few months. She hopes to get a taste of all the great opportunities that are available to the young children of Arfon through the medium of Welsh.
Carys Gwyn, North Wales Regional Officer, Mudiad Meithrin said,
“We are pleased as an organization to be able to employ Dawn, who has experienced the work we do on all levels.”
Gwenllian Lansdown Davies (Chief Executive of Mudiad Meithrin) will be joining Dawn on the 3rd of December as part of her tour of Wales. They look forward to be visiting Cylch Meithrin Seiont, a Pheblig together.
“I hope I can use my background and experiences to help the cylchoedd in their work, and I look forward to having the opportunity to get to know everyone better in the coming weeks. People keep asking me ‘How is the new job going?’ and I give them all the same answer, 'I love it!"
