In March this year, it was announced that Dr Gwenllian Lansdown Davies had been appointed as Mudiad Meithrin’s new Chief Executive. Gwenllian has now commenced her new duties officially at the Mudiad’s Chief Executive since the beginning of September.
“Being appointed to work for Mudiad Meithrin is a great privilege. The Mudiad – and therefore the Welsh language – should be present wherever there are children. They, at the beginning of their young lives, should be encouraged to flourish through play and adventure”.
Gwenllian is almost done touring across Wales, she has enjoyed traveling and meeting our workers and great voulenteers we have in the counties of Wales, which includes the Development Officers, Co-ordinators, Peripatetic Ti a Fi Leaders and a variety of cylchoedd meithrin (Welsh-medium playgroups), cylchoedd Ti a Fi (Welsh-medium parent/carer and toddler groups) and day nurseries.
Gwenllian added before she started touring:
“I’m looking foward to touring Wales from Coast to Coast from September until Christmas to meet staff, parents, volunteers and the children themselves as I visit the cylchoedd to get a taster of the vast variety of exciting activities that are offered to the children attending them. I believe that the work achieved in our cylchoedd is essential on a grassroots level to the Mudiad’s work.”
Gwenllian will commence her tour on Friday 19 of September in South Wales.
