At 1.30pm on Friday 26 of January, Mudiad Meithrin will be launching a new quality assurance scheme for Day Nurseries. The Scheme, called ‘Safonau Serennog’, will be launched at Camau Bach Day Nursery, Aberystwyth.
The aim of the ‘Safonau Serennog’ quality scheme is to set achievable aims and goals that all Day Nurseries can work towards. The scheme offers a structure to enable committees/employers and staff to evaluate their service objectively. Day Nurseries will be required to develop, innovate, improve quality and raise standards of the services they provide to young children and their families in order to achieve the 3 possible standards – Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Leanne Marsh, Head of Service Development and Academi for Mudiad Meithrin said:
“We have already launched and established Safonau Serennog for Cylchoedd Meithrin and Cylchoedd Ti a Fi, therefore the launch of this pack for Day Nurseries completes the jigsaw and ensures that all of Mudiad Meithrin members will achieve the highest possible standards”
During the launch there will be an opportunity to have a guided tour around the nursery and to be entertained by the children attending the nursery.
“These new standards for the day nurseries will be focusing on 7different elements within the services that are provided by the provision. They elements are The Child’s Wellbeing, Learning Experiences, Care and Development, Leadership and Management, The Welsh Language, The Environment, Teaching and Assessing. We’d like to encourage every day nursery to apply for these standards and we look forward to awarding these new standards to the nurseries soon”.
