During the last week of October this year, Mudiad Meithrin will hold a fundraising activity called 'Rhywbeth neis, neis i de' (Something very nice for tea) a line featuring in the popular Welsh nursery-rhyme 'Mynd drot, drot ar y gaseg wen'.
The campaign's aim is to ask everybody to host an afternoon tea for the parents of the children attending the cylch for a small fee as a contribution to the cylch - and to enjoy a scrummy afternoon tea with friends! We hope that other organisations and societies will also host an afternoon tea in the local community to raise funds for the local cylch of for Mudiad Meithrin as a national charity - an opportunity to thank the Mudiad for giving children the best start on their Welsh-medium educational journey during Thanksgiving.
A fundraising pack has been prepared and posted to all Mudiad Meithrin members, but if you wish to take part please contact Nerys Fychan for a fundraising pack.
Congratulations to Eleri Vaughan Roberts from Wrexham for winning the nursery rhyme competition. Why not learn the new song ‘Amser Te’ in the cylch?
Second prize goes to Ruth Owen (teacher) and Ysgol Llanddoged, and the third prize goes to Ysgol Pentreuchaf. Videos of these two lovely nursery rhymes will be here soon.
Here is a copy of the lyrics and a video of the winning nursery rhyme:
